I am responding to everyone because Scott's question is probably one that everyone has...

We will bring extra ad booklets to next Friday's meeting and hand them out to the parents. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a parent thing, i.e. parents should be getting the ads, because this is one fund raiser we do for the boy's.

It is important to visit the potential advertiser with the ad booklet in hand. That way they can see what they are getting and the booklets are impressive thanks to Mike Card's efforts last year.

The ad sizes are based on a 5.5" x 8.5" page with margins, so:
- a the full page is about 4.5" wide by 7.5" tall
- a half page is about 4.5" wide by 3.8" tall
- a quarter page is about 4.5" wide by 2" tall

I adjust the ad size to fill the space, so if they but a 1/4 page and give you their business card, I simply enlarge it to fit and that works quite well. If they have ad copy that is larger than the page, I can shrink it as needed. Just keep in mind the aspect ratio: a full page is twice as tall as it is wide, a half page is about square, a 1/4 page about twice as wide as it is tall.

Anyone should feel free to call me if they have questions. Even if you are at the advertiser and they have a question, just call me. My cell is (203)919-1675.

Mike and Phil,

Do we have any copies of last year's book to carry with us for when we talk to people?

Also, What are the dimensions of each ad size so that we can advise them which one would best suit any ad copy that they may already have or be running in the newspaper?

Scot
