Subject: [Troop 68] Summer Trip Info/signups (reply needed asap)

LOTS OF INFO, please be sure to read if interested.
We are trying to plan our annual summer trip. This year’s
proposed location is Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware. Cape Henlopen
State Park is a primitive camping area available to youth organizations. In
addition to being a camp site, the location has a beach for swimming and surf
fishing (license available on line), a seaside nature center, hiking trails and
is located very close to Fort Miles. Fort Miles was a key piece in the nations
coastal defense during WWII.

Below I have come up with an initial estimate per person
(based on a group of 15 people) which includes the deposit fee for the campsite
($40 for the group), fee per person per night to camp ($2 per person per
night), gas & tolls, meal money and the $5 per person cost to tour Fort
Miles.

In addition, there are a couple of other exciting options
available for us to do which we can vote on. They are not included in the price
estimate below but would be add-ons. The first is with Quest Fitness which is a
kayaking trip/dolphin tour (swim with dolphins). This trip takes us from the
bay to ocean with guides that specialize in working with groups such as the boy
scouts. The cost of this experience would be approximately $35 per person. We
would need to book reservations for this asap. The second possibility is
that we can purchase a day pass to Jungle Jims Waterpark that has numerous
water slides/attractions. The price for the all day pass is $19 per person.
This can be purchased on the day we want to go.

Based on my initial estimates, the cost of the trip per
person would be between $80 to $90 depending on the number of people that go.
This does not include the kayak experience or waterpark. We are looking at 3
potential dates for our trip. They are the following:

1)
Leave Sunday July 4th- Return Wednesday July 7th

2)
Leave Sunday July 11th- Return Wednesday July 14th

3)
Leave Sunday July 18th- Return Wednesday July 21st

For those scouts attending the 100th Jamboree
celebration, option 3 may not doable since they will be leaving later that week
for Virginia.

In order to find out if we have enough interest in moving
forward, can you please e-mail me or let me know by next week’s meeting on
Friday whether you are interested in going on this summer trip. I also
need to know which of the dates you prefer.

YIS, Chris
